Research Abstract |
We proposed a new High Power Multilevel PWM Current Source GTO Inverter System with PWM Controlled Thyristor Rectifier. The main circuit configuration of the proposed inverter system is composed of a PWM controlled thyristor rectifier, an double connected PWM current source GTO inverter, an energy rebound circuit, and two dc link filter inductors. This proposed system is able to increase the capacity and downsize a double PWM controlled current source GTO inverter without transformer connecting the inverter and a induction motor. And we devised the pulse-pattern of the proposed inverter to remove the specified lower harmonics of the inverter output current. And also, the performance of PWM-controlled thyristor rectifier operating at unity fundamental input power factor in the PWM current source GTO inverter system for induction motor drive is proposed and analyzed. Along with the analytical and experimental results, the dc voltage control performance of the rectifier for various values of the number of pulses for a half period of the supply frequency is also given. As a result of this research, we find out that it is possible to remove the specified lower harmonics of the inverter output current. And we analyze basic characteristics of the proposed inverter system by using Pspice simulator.
