| Research Abstract |
Tentative conclusions derived from this study are as follows :
1.As is evidenced by the studies in Western countries, there're some positive aspects in "aging, "which in turn, are key aspects for the study of education.
2.The elderly's image structure of old people is different from that of young students. By the use of factor analysis, the elderly put a high value on mental aspects, while young put evaluation and appearance.
3.The young need more understandings for psychological and social aspects of aging, which in turn will be materials for aging education.
4.The elderly view "toshi wo toru" and "oi" in a same way, while students view them differently.
5.Compared to students, the elderly take "aging" positively.
6.People from higher social strata are more likely to have negative attitudes toward aging and old people.
7.Death fears are stronger in students than in the elderly.
8.Both in the elderly and students, positive attitudes toward "death education" have some relationship with daily attitudes for death : conversation, thinking, fears, objective understanding.
