Research Abstract |
The main purpose of this study is to make it clear that an opportunity of life-long learning is spread over in the recent society. Thus about the reserch, the 1st year in 1994, the target was the aged people in Kobe arban area (1,426 sample). And the 2nd year in 1995, that was the aged people in a sparsely-populated area (1,337 sample). Through the research, the main findings are as follows. (1) Recognition and Needs for life-long learning is fairly high, that is the same tendency in both area (arban and sparsely-populated area). (2) Learning needs for the aged people is headding for finding one's life worth living, and in addition to that, such needs mainly comes from "self-demands". (3) Openness of educational institution in a sparsely-populated area is fairly less conditions than that of in the arban area. (Mainly, the luck of educational information, short of number of educational institution, and financial difficulties.) These factors leads the people an obstruction for learning. (4) In a sparsely-populated area, specially, life-long learning is the same meaning for a community net-work. In the other words, in such area, the agent to take part in a learning opportunity is very connected to the human-relations.
