Research Abstract

As the result of the study, I gain new views. They are as follows ;
1.Through an analysis of Baiken (sale certificates) during the Sengoku period, I show that the regional name used by people was different from the one fudal lord used. And I show that people called the basic unit of community "Mura", and that the group of "Mura"was called "Shou, Ryou".
2.I analayze "Soubaka"(cemetery of several village) to confirm the basic connection with "Mura"which produced the regional recognition of people. By this analyzation I have brought to light that connection with cemetery was one of the factor which "Shou, Ryou"was produced by.
3.I show that "Shou, Ryou"formed "Kumi"in combination, and that each village of "Shou, Ryou"called "Kumi"has a close relation to the war, the water, the safekeeping of property, the marrage, the division of circulation.
4.I show that the regional bond spread from "Mura"to "Shou, Ryou"and to "Kumi", and more to "Kumi"which was on a countywide scale. This "kumi"differed from the country under the comtrol of "Bakufu"and "Shugo", and broad community produced by people for people .
5.Unitil now, the study of regional history during the Sengoku period has tended to concentrate on the study of local selfgoverment (regional powe). So I direct my attention to people's life, and I have produced new study of regional history succesfully.
