Research Abstract |
The purpose of the research is to develope a teaching method and material suitable for Japanese learners of Hungarian language. As such, I have developed a computer-based Hypermedia Hungarian Dictionary (HHB), through which the learner can acquire three kinds of information at the same time, the letters, sounds and picture of a target word. For example, when the learner clicks the picture of a cat drawn on the card, the Hungarian word for cat appear on the screen and at the same time, he or she can hear the sound of the word pronounced by a native Hungarian. The learner can move in a house and learn the words found in various rooms. This dictionary works on the Apple Personal Computer based on the Hypercard program. It consists of 6 MB,21 card, 1 background, about 200 lexical items. In Hungarian grammatical and semantic relations of nouns are expressed by adding suffixes and most suffixed forms are regularly produced, but in case of irregular words the learners have to know their plural, accusative and possesive forms. For further developement such information should be included in the HHB.
