Research Abstract |
The results obtained from the present research are summarized as follows. (1) In order to develop a practical forced Rayleigh scattering apparatus applicable to a wide range of substances and conditions, we have invented a free-surface feating technique using CO_2 laser which does not require any cell windows. (2) By measuring water at room temperature and molten caronates, it has been found the effect of two-dimensional heat conduction. We have analyzed the error factors, and attempted to apply new analysis to correct the errors. (3) The thermal diffusivity of molten carbonates mixtures (Li_2CO_3-Na_2CO_3-K_2co_3 : 45.3-31.5-25.0mol% and Li_2CO_3-Na_2CO_3 : 53.3-46.7mol%) at temperatures up to 1030K. (4) The thermal diffusivity of molten Li_2CO_3 (1130 to 1170K), Na_2CO_3 (1160 to 1260K) and K_2CO_3 (1170 to 1300K) has been measured by using sapphire glass as a sample cell. The accuracy of the present measurement is estimated to be <plus-minus> 25%. We found that the previous date by Egorov are larger than ours with a macximum deviation of about 170%.
