Research Abstract |
The efficient use of frequency bands is one of the most important issues in mobile communication systems because the demand for mobile communications is increasing rapidly and the frequency bands for mobile communications are limited. For the efficient use, the cellular concept is usually applied to mobile communication systems. For using the frequency bands more efficiently, the size of a cell becomes smaller and the 2-dimensional cellular system is replaced by the 3-dimensional cellular system. The objective of this research is increasing system capacity of multi-dimensional mobile communication systems by applying Dynamic Cell Allocation and Dynamic Channel Assignment. We obtained the following research results : 1.An algorithm for Dynamic Cell Allocation is obtained. 2.It is shown that the Dynamic Cell Allocation increases the system capacity. 3.Flexible Hybrid Channel Assignment strategy, which is based on neuroalgorithms, is developed. 4.Flexible Hybrid Channel Assignment strategy increases the system capacity of multi-dimensional mobile communication systems. From these results, it is shown that new technology is required for developing multidi-mensional mobile communication systems. The future problemis developing the new technology.
