Research Abstract |
Preparation method of ceramic hollow ball : Volcanic ejecta of Mt.Unzen-Fugen was mixed with Kibushi clay of 20 vol% as a binder with pot mill. The mixture was pressed into a half ball with plaster mold. Two of the ball were consolidated into a hollow ball and heated at 1200゚C for 1 h. Using this method, we can obtained ceramic hollow ball. Formation method of pores in the shell wall of the ceramic hollow ball : Cellulose up to 15 mass% or chopped carbon fiber up to 1 mass% were mixed to the mixture as a pore former. Ceramic hollow ball was prepared with the above-mentioned method. There were many open pores in the shell wall of the ceramic hollow ball. Taking in and taking out ability of water : Using vacuum infiltration, we could take water in the hollow part of the ball. We also could take out water from the hollow part by exposing the ball stored water in hot air.
