Research Abstract |
The farm management analysis were carried out for several areas in Kyushu district, for example, on the Miyakonojo Valley Project, on the Nansatsu Project and on the Onogawa Project. The future aspests for developments were evaluated due to the results of the analysis. The present states of farm management were analyzed for dry farming system in the projects, and the chaging states were predicted after introducing irrigation system. According to the both results, the several applicable methods for stabilizing farm management were recommended to the project scheme after introducing the system. It was clarified that the shortage of manpower was the most severe limiting factor for the management. If available the manpower, the increasing farm management would be expected. The following discussion was, therefore, made under the manpower condition being satisfied. For categories on live-stock industry, cattle breeding is unstable because of chaging price in markets, and cattle keeping, pig keeping and chicken industry are relatively stable. The effects of introducing irrigation system were evaluated for several farming patterns. The irrigation system has remarkable effect for large scale farming of vegetable culture. It has big effects for tea-plantations, greenhouse culture of vegetables and flowers in order. The intensive farming, such as greenhouse culture, for new vegetables has very big potential to increase farmer's incomes, when after water system is completed. High quality vegetables are usually very sensible for soil water management and climatic conditions.
