Research Abstract

For the purpose of evaluation of sports on circulatory functions, 2487 healthy men aged 40 to 59 years old were followed 6 to 9 years. Follow-up was undertaken 2122 men (85.3%), and mean follow-up period was 6.3 years. Each kind of sports was divided into two categories, light sports and moderate or heavy sports.
Results were as follows. A change of moderate or heavy sports had a significant reverse correlation with blood pressure at end-point as a result of multiple regression analysis. But that of light sports showed no correlation with circulatory functions.
