Research Abstract |
From January 1985 through April 1993, a total of 45 patients with squamous cell carcinomas of the oral cavity and the oropharynx (including 2 cases of carcinoma of the maxillary sinus) were treated with radiotherapy at the Department of Radiology, Osaka University Medical School. We emphasize that the time interval between external irradiation and interstitial brachytherapy (^<198>Au grain implantation) is the important prognostic factor in combined therapy.
