Research Abstract |
Construction of host system We have made up the Electronic Bulletin Board System in a computer of Mukogawa Women's University's network as a host computer system host for the international communicaiton and crosscultural understanding between the schools in Japan and overseas. In the first year 1994, people outside the school could access to this host computer by the public telephone line. But in 1995, as the university network was connected to the Internet, they could connect to the system throught the Internet also. Moreover, the e-mail was able to be dispatched by using the internet. Setting of cooperative schools for the research and enhancement of system We offered the communication modem and the communication cost to each of the research cooperative schools. In 1994 school term, we desided six research cooperative schools, two of elementary, junior high and high schools. In the junior high school and the high school, the difficulty of setting the exchange target is seen and there is a tendency biased to English in selecting the subject. Therefore in 1995, we made elementary schools as five research cooperative one and one junior high school. To open the appearance of the exchange of each cooperative schools to the public in the system promote and helped the system construction and renewment. Japanese-English translation of the information and communication. When a information of the requiremnet of exchange (English) was uploaded, it was translated by the cooperation of the students of english department. More than 200 mails from the foreign countries are on the board now. The problem of the language is closed up if the exchange is actually started. To solve this, the student of English division were doing the job between the foreign country and Japanese children to help the exchange of each other. Development in the future We want to assume this to be a system opened to the public widely as a foothold of the internatinal educational exchange of schools.
