Research Abstract |
1.The literary works written by foreigners who are originally not a native German speaker have acquired some cultural acknowledgment as a part of 'Germen Literature' in Germany. 2.The themes of such works are not restricted to those from lifes and jobs of foreign workers. This means that the term 'foreigner's literature' has lost its usefullness. 3.The German readers however retain the belief that there were the 'foreigner's literature', written in German by those who are actually not a member of the German culture. 4.What decides if a work belongs to the German culture is increasingly understood under religious criteria (Christianity vs.Islam). This might be related to the social tendency in Europe that will expell any strange culture as 'fundamentalism'.
