Research Abstract |
Mongolia is four time wider than Japan, and contents of 2,300,000 population. The populations of cattle (including yaks and the hybrid be twee yaks and cattle), horses, sheep, goats, two hamped camels and pigs complied by FAO in 1994 were 2,780,2,100,14,390,6,470,420, and 50 thousands, respectively. We started a joint research project between our team and the Institutes of General and Experimental Biology and Biotechnology of Mongolian Academy of Sciences from 1993. In 1995, a Grant in Aid for Scientivic Research (an International Scientific Research Program) was granted to Yuichi Tanabe, Professor at Azabu University. Research Results : 1. The two genes of hemoglobin A (Hb^A) and gangliose idemonooxygenase g (Gmo^g) were present in a high grequency in Mongolian native dogs and Mongolian wolves (Canis lupus chanco). 2. The genetic constitutions of Mongolian native horse populations are highly variable and are consists of all the polymorphisms of blood proteins found in the horse populations of Japan and South Asia. 3. Mongloian native chicnes in north Mongolia near Sukhbaatar have unique external and internal charactes. the genetic constitution of plumage color of the chicken is different from the native chicken populations in the South Asia. The survey of blood protein polymorphisms of the chicken reveal that it relates of Asian breeds including Japanese breeds and different from the European breed such as the White Leghorns.
