Research Abstract |
The opiectives of this study was threefold. Firstly, we attended annual meetings of the three nucleotide sequence databanks (DDBJ,EBI,and NCBI). Secondly, we investigated how the nucleotide sequence databases and other biological databases were constructed in various foreign institutions. Thirdly, we investigated the use of various biological database including the DDBJ/EMBL/GenBank international nucleotide sequence database, amino acid sequence database, and so on in foreign countries. In particular, the use of biological information databases in some Asian countries and Australia was investigated. Those research results are useful resources for developing and operating various biological databases at CIB (Center for Information Biology).
