Research Abstract |
Objective of this study is to elucidate order and responsiveness in the disordered materials, which are unique characteristics of polymeric materials, Namely, we tried to understand structures and dynamics of soft-materials through controlling the structural disorder and analyzing their functions. We discussed on the results of our respective researches with each other, in personal and/or group meetings, by setting the following more detailed subjects : (1) Conformation and dynamics of isolated polymer molecules (2) Changes in structure and properties of dilute-, semidilute-solutin and bulk polymers with change of concentration as a function of molecular characteristics (3) Physical properties of polymer blends and block copolymers (4) Theoretical considerations on these problems from phenomenological and molecular points of view. The results of the studies and discussion were presented in the two meeting held in Jan.of 1996 and Jan.1997, where all members of the research group and some invited speakers got together, discussed and exchanged scientific information. Contents of the presented results in the meetings were summarized in two booklets with each having 129 and 247 pagers, respectively.
