| Research Abstract |
(1)About 8000 pieces of Iron tool are found from 1800 archaeologicai site until 1997.
(2)Almost iron tool belongs to third century, end of the Yayoi Period. So, iron tool spread to each place of Japan Island on this period.
(3)On the Distribution of iron tool, the most number of Iron tool were found in the Northern district of Kyusyu, and so, It is cleared transmission of iron tool and iron technique started from northern district of Kyusyu and then spread to the eastern Japan.
(4)There were introduced iron tool on the beginning of Yayoi period in Northern district of Kyusyu, on the first half of early Yayoi period in Cyugoku, Shikoku and Kink district, on the last half of late Yayol period in Cyubu and Kanto district. However iron tool were not introduced to Northern end of Honsyu.
(5)Almost iron tool were made of wrought iron, but there are some cast iron made blade tools which were made in Yan and Zhai Country of the Battle Age of ancient China. And cast iron made ax or hoe were introduced to northern Kanto district.
(6)Change of material in productive tool started in wood work tool, and then went on agricultural tool.
(7)Change between stone tool and iron tool has some steps and there were regional differences of shape, kind and composition in iron tool on the late Yayoi period.
(8)Steel weapon such as sword and saber appeared in northern Kyusyu on the middle Yayoi period after release from the embargo on export for military's weapon by West Han Government. And on the end of Yayoi period, long steel sword and saber were appeared in the coast of Japan Sea, and small dagger produced in Cyubu and Kanto.
