| Research Abstract |
1.From the results of our investigation on respective texts of Ming-ru xue-an, we clarified the differences and similarities among the texts and their own characteristics. On the basis of these results, we examined what Huang Zong-xi had intended in this book
2.We made a database on the individual philosophers in Ming-ru xue-an, regarding names, another name, years of birth and death, birthplaces, official posts, titles of their anthologies, and so on.
3.By utilizing the database, we made its various characteristics clear which had not been known, concerning regional differences of birthplaces, periods they lived, careers as officials, and so on.
4.We could reveal Huang Zong-xi's intention to compile this book more clearly by looking into his references to the biography of Wang Qi throughout Ming-ru xue-an.
5.We examined quotations from the literatures on Wang Qi comparing them with the originals, and the results also indicate Huang Zong-xi's ideological point of view and attitude toward the compilation of Ming-ru xue-an.
6.We compared Shen-yin-yu quoted in the volume of Lu Kun with respective texts of the same book, and came to the conclusion that the text used by Huang Zong-xi was different from the one known today.
7.Each volume of Ming-ru xue-an was often used individually on each philosopher as a research material for the history of thought in the Ming dynasty. Now we are convinced that Ming-ru xue-an should be understood as a book which has philosophical unity with careful analysis of each biography, the compiler's critical comments, and the literatures concerned as well.
8.On the research mentioned above, we disucussed regularly and published a report.
