Research Abstract |
We have investigated the basic phenomena in organic ultra-thin films using inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy (IETS). The results provide valuable information for highdensity recording system. [1] IETS in diacetylene monomer films 1) IETS corresponding to the molecular adsorption and polymerization is observed. 2) Chenge of IETS patterns can be controlled by the voltage pulses. [2] IETS in TCNQ/TMPD adsorption LB films 3) IETS corresponding to the charge transfer between TCNQ and TMPD is obtained. 4) A marked change of IETS by voltage pulses is observed. 5) A reversible change of IETS is also observed. The basic experimental results show the potential of a new high-density recording system using IETS and STM tip.
