Research Abstract |
This research explains about construction technology of the stone wall of Osaka Castle of Tokugawa period as a partof historical study of execution technology of public works before mechanization on our country. The pysical rationality was also precisely evaluated from the position of present technology through investigations on geotechnical engineering and numerical analysises of the construction of the stone wall. Results of this study are the following items. (1) A field survey was carried out about the structure of the stnoe wall of Osaka Castl and a study about construction technology of the stone wall on geotechnical engineering was coducted. And, the ground of Osaka Castle were made. (2) The literal study and a field survey were carried out about historical collapse record of the stone wall of Osaka Castle. Based on these in estigations, a study about the form and stability of the stone wall were conducted. The Stone Wall Structure Ratio was defiend in the study. (3) A study about the physical structure of the stone wall of Osaka Castle was coducted based on static and dynamic analysis considering the time of earthquake by Finite Element Method and Distinct Element Metthod. (4) A study was made about masonry technology, construction method and costruction procedure of the stone wall of Osaka Castle. (5) An investigation about the foundation structure of restorative donjon of Osaka Castle constructed in Showa period was made. (6) An investigation of remains in Maejma island, Ushimado Town, Okayama Prefecture was carried out, where the stone had been collected at the time of stone wall construction of Osaka Castle. (7) A library of Ikeda family was decoded as historical literal investigation of construction technology and the construction process of the stone wall of Osaka Castle.
