Research Abstract |
Thermodynamic analysis of slag system with a particular emphasis on hydration with water vapor was conducted for the systems CaO+P2O5+FeO and binary alkaline sulphates. Kinetic studies were also made for the reaction CaO+H2O+=Ca(OH)2 at steam pressure of 0.1 to 0.3 atm and temperatures between 100 and 400 degree centi-grade. Kinetic analysis revealed that the rate controlling step for this reaction would be chemical reaction between solid lime and water vapor.
