Research Abstract |
1.We detected differences in cytopathological changes with infection of BmNPV between two cultivated cell lines, BmN and l30 from the silkworm. The analyzes showed that differences existed in infectivity, multiplication rate and activity the virus and cell lethality between two cell lines. Apoptosis, which did not occur in BmN,was observed in l30 cells. 2.A few cells survived in l30 cells after infection of high concentration of BmNPV.The cell lines cloned from them had various cytological and pathological characters, but their resistance to the virus was not high. 3.Polyhedral protein synthesis did not correlate to particle replication of NPV,when amounts of plyhedral and virus particle proteins were measured under various conditions of infection with cell density and multiplicity of infection. 4.Injury effects of the larval hemolymph on cultivated cells was observed and lipophorin was identified to be one of the injury factors. 5.Ecdysteroid feeding to larvae at low concentrations had no effect on multiplication of NPV and cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus.
