Research Abstract

As multi-media technology has developed, the application of computers in many diverse fields has been actively researched. As a result, the demand for computer applications in archaeological artifacts is very high. There are large amounts of archaeological remains which are precious and must be preserved. I have three purposes on this study. The first is to construct a data base to compare artifacts found at archaeological sites with objects drawn on picture scrolls in medieval Japan (twelfth-fifteenth centuries), using a computers and a scanner. The second is to make and test a data base system and a functional information system by two computers. The third is the comparative study of archaeological remains with picture scrolls.
