Research Abstract |
In this research, the investigators propose bearingless axial gap motors which have no shaft. These motors can be unified with mechanical equipment such as turbine blade, impellers, and so on. The obtained the final achievements are summarized as follows : 1) New type bearingless motors which have no shaft are manufactured. The permanent magnets on the upper side of disk type rotor produce axial force against gravity. The reluctance motor on the bottom side produce both axial force to control the axial position of the rotor and inclination force. 2) The conditions which must be concerned, when the operating axial position of the rotor is decied, were pointed out. 3) H_* controller is found to realize successfully stable operations in axial gap control. 4) The axial forces of the reluctance motors are produced not only by the magnetizing fluxes but also by the torque component fluxes. The maximum torque is limited because of the decrease of the magnetizing current in operation. The maximum torque can be temporally increased by the deviation in the axial position of the rotor. 5) The motor was successfully operated with no mechanical contact by the axial position control and by the inclination controls. 6) The fact that axial force is also produced when the inclination fluxes are magnetized is pointed out.
