Research Abstract |
1.Traffic Survey ; Detector output of five minute lane volum mesurements and average running spead were collected from congested traffic flow during Summer vacation period on the west-bound expressway section between Nagoya and Kyoto. During the data collection period travel time was measured using automatic vehicle identification systems and test vichicles floating in the traffic flow. 2.Ramp Traffic Volume Measuremants ; Ramp traffic volume was measured at some interchanges and junctions with high on-ramp and off-ramp traffic volume such as Komaki, Maibara and Ritto in order to get ramp volume fluctuation patterns. 3.O-D data reduction ; Output from ramp traffic detector at Maibara junction, Komaki junction and Ritto interchange were reduced and O-D traffic data imput system were refined for higher reliability. 4.Travel time estimation simulation ; The travel time simulation model was improved by implementing a new process for direct use of traffic detector out-put in order to investigate the possiblity of application of the travel time estimation model to the actual traffic control and information system. 5.Improvement of travel time correction system ; A process using the results of the outomatic vehicle identification systems are developed in order to revise the travel time estimation results.
