Research Abstract |
In this project, we have developed our work as follows : We have established the technique to add several preventing functions such as de-integument, copying, moving between cells or a body, and maturity of virus protein. Further, we have tried to produce a plant which has the newest resistant properties beyond genus of virus, and establish genetic resource of plants against multispectrum disease. First, we have produced plants which have potato virus Y,azuki bean mosaic virus, tobacco etch virus, citrus tatter leaf virus, and movement protein and coat protein of potato virus T.Then we have analyzed the functions of each protein. Proceedingly, we have produced full length of cDNA clones of citrus tatter leaf virus genome, composed infectious transcribing RNA and established a system to infect plants by inoculation. Under these results, we have introduced a mutation to the cDNA,investigated influences to the function of the protein, and got a lot of informations. Therefore, it would be possible to get significant knowledges to apply various protein to plants and produce plants which have multispectrum resistant properties in the future.
