Research Abstract |
Using recombinant inbred lines (RI lines), F2 population and backcross population, QTL analysis for several traits, such as heading date, culm length, panicle length and etc., was performed. Many putative QTLs for some traits were detected. In QTL analysis specially for heading date, repeated and detailed examination was done. In addition, the linkage and substitution mapping of QTLs for heading date were done using the derivatives of the chromosome segment substitution and near-isogenic lines and gave the clear information about the QTLs. The rapid advanced generation at Okinawa in rice cross breeding was evaluated through monitoring the RFLP gene frequency in F3, F4 and F5 generations from the cross of Asominori and IR24. Section pressure near the region of semidwarf gene (sd1) was apparently observed.
