Research Abstract |
Recently, effects of lack of exercise and westernizing of food habits on health status based urbanizing of daily life are focused in Japan. On the other hand, health status of students belonged to an athletic club under unbalanced nutritional in take are also picked up. A free moving system was designed for exercise of rats, that is 4 case (80 m * 20 cm * 25 cm) were arranged lengthways through three pipes (10 cm ID), and drinking water on upstairs and diets were set up under ground. In the free moving system (Ex+) or the conventional system (Ex-), rats fed low magnesium (Mg1/3) diet or normal diet (Mg+), (total 4 groups ; 1)Ex-Mg+, 2)Ex+Mg+, 3)Ex-Mg-, 4)Ex+Mg-) were kept for 40 days. Muscle weight decreased in rats of group 4 compared to group 1.After sampling, biochemical items in plasma, and total lipid, lipid peroxide, protein and superoxide dismutase (total-SOD,Mn-SOD) in liver were measured. In plasma of group 4, ALB,AMY,LDH,CPK,UA & CRE were significantly low compared to that of group 1 and PL,T-CHO,ALB,ALP & UA in group 4 were low compared to that of group2.In plasma of group 3, UA was significantly low compared to that of group 1 and PL,ALB,ALP,CHE & UA were low compared to group 2.In lipid peroxide of liver of groups 1 & 2 was significantly high compared to that of other groups. These results suggested that health status under low Mg nutrition would be fallen down by exercise.
