Research Abstract |
1. We have examined the equipment performance and evaluated its actual achievement after having tested it twice since the beginning of the year of study. Based on these evaluations, alteratoins were made on the circuit and the design, which are now reflected in the user's manual and the related teaching materials. (1) The Development of the Equipment (the following things were done.) ・Improving the prove of an analogue censor and developing a new probe (temperature, atmospheric pressure, illuminatoin intensity, humidity). ・Developing censor's automatic distinguishable function and a mechanism to switch a signal voltage to a unit system. ・Improving and raising a function counter and that of stopwatch. ・Controlling power sources (AC100v, etc.) and developing I/O box for input. ・Adding the mechanism which enables controll by a programd arrangement to automate various experiments (ex.Tullgren equipment used for extracting earthworms, etc.) ・Improving an user interface. (2) The Development of Teach

ing Materials We held the user's training sessoin using the special data logger and evaluated the equipment as well (for elementary school, junior and high school teachers). ・We made the user's manual for "Jikken-Tasuke". We made a collection of teaching materials on "Jikken-Tasuke". 2. Conclusion of this Year's Study on the Special Data Logger for Students ・Using the special data logger outdoors makes collecting surrounding data possible and enables us to use available teaching materials. ・Using batteries is desirable in terms of handiness and a prevention against accidents, when experimenting. ・The water resistent system is necessary and effective for students. ・Sample data need to be indicated by a unit system which schools use. ・Taking the measurement by an analogue censor together with the functon of counter and stopwatch offers an efficient experiment. 3. The Future Goals In this study, we could get approximately planned performance with respect to our set up, which seems reasonable for students by miniaturizing (B6 edition), by providing more than 1.5 hours battery power, by adding the water resistent structure and the censor's automatic distinguishable function, etc. The special data logger needs a handy and more compact calculator. Therefore, an integrated circuit is required. Less
