Research Abstract |
This year we analyzed the data collected last year and visited some special schools and agencies. 1. In Research 1, we analyzed the 121 plans of in-service training at the boards of education and the special education centers in all prefectures. We found not only the particular similarities but also the differences in details concerning the forms of the in-service trainings. 2. In Research 2, we analyzed the plans of the in-service training and the questionnaires collected from special schools (94 for the mentally retarded, 47 for the physically handicapped, and 47 for the delicate). As a result, we found the differences of the subjects according to the type of the schools. 3. In Research 3, we analyzed the awareness of 110 teachers at special schools. We found not only the problems of the contents and the forms but also the differences according to the type of the schools. 4. In Research 4, we visited some special education centers, boards of education, and special schools where the characteristic and unique in-service trainings were carried and collected the primary data. We will build the form of the in-service training matched to the life stages of teachers on the basis of this study.
