| Research Abstract |
As for this study, firstly I had an insight in "Chuyuki" (***) which is the diary of Fujiwara-no-Munetada (****). And then I focused on the first half of the 11th century when "Insei" (**)(administration of an emperor after his abdication) was established, and paid attention to that the lower-level officials aggressively supported the society of Insei, so I took notice of people in that class. As the lower-level officials lived in the current of "a moneyed man is clever" or "honesty is a loser" , they could not help doing like burglary, incendiarism, fraud, or bribery, I comprehended that this dissatisfaction was the great driving force to realize the Insei. And it was necessary to see into the lives of the upper-level officials who supported the social structure. Therefore, I inquired into the live of Minamoto-no-Toshikata (***) who positively supported the reign of Fujiwara-no-Michinage (****), great political power in the latter term of "Sekkan-jidai"(****)(the age of the government of the Sessho and Kanpaku). And as the period before Insei I surveyed the background described in "Okagami"(**).
On these points of view, the way of my own to grasp the term of Insei was cleared.
