Research Abstract |
The continuous Yen appreciation and other external changes of the international business environment press the Japanese enterprises to move their production bases across the ocean or to increase the international purchasing activities of the parts in recent years. Especially, the latter is covered with many problems. Them, we researched about the countermove of Japanese enterprises, placing the focus on making clear the actual condition of the international purchasing activities of the parts. We sent the ENQUETEs which were composed of 'outline of the companies', 'seles and recurring profit', 'export and import', 'activity of overseas production', and 'international purchasing activities of the parts' to 521 companies before the October, 1995. And 204 answers were sent to us before the end of 1995. Based on these answers, we visited some companies to hear about the actual conditions of international purchasing activities of the parts and its influence on their subcontract factories in Japan as well as their companies. We confirmed our opinion by hearing their recognition about severe circumstances. Our research made clear that Japanese enterprises needed to overcome the international competition, decreasing production costs by the international purchasing activities of the parts. So we are confident that the results of the ENQUETEs raise the level of the fruit of our research, through analyzing the actual condition of international purchasing activities of the parts. Further we should like to add that the results of the ENQUETEs appeared as a study note in KEIZAI-KEIEI RONSO,Vol.XXXI,No.3, December 1996, The Society of Economics and Business Administration, Kyoto Sangyo University.
