Research Abstract |
In this year, twenty of the portable ELF magnetic field dosimeters have been designed and manufactured based on the design sheet developed last year. They satisfy the electrical performance required, and the final performance is as follows : (1) Size : 135mm x 90mm x 35mm (including the power supply) (2) Weight : about 250g including the power supply (3) Measured values : time-integrated values of three orthogonal components independently (4) Magnetic flux density : 0.02-550 micro tesla (5) Integrated values : 0.01-1999 micro tesla-hour (6) Time duration : 30 hours continuously A couple of on-site measurements using the present dosimeters reveal some mechanical defects of the dosimeter, and the dosimeters are still under construction. Consequently no systematic data on the dose characteristics expected are not yet obtained, and further investigation will be required. On the other hand, power frequency magnetic field survey has been conducted under 500kV over-head power transmission lines, in the 500kV power substation area and in the residential area, all in Indonesia as well as in Japan. Some valuable data on the elf magnetic field characteristics have been obtained from the present project. A part of the present survey was presented at "Seminar on Biological Effects of EMF in Indonesia" held at Bandung, Indonesia.
