Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to quantify micrometeorological characteristics near around urban infrastructures such as urban river, urban street, urban forest, and urban business area by conducting filed observations, and also to make a new index for evaluating qualitatively human-thermal sensations, especially in hot summer season. Fruits of this study were summarized in the following points ; (1) qualification microclimate near around urban infrastructures : Filed observations in urban river (Tama river), urban forest (Meiji-shrine forest), urban street (Root 246) and urbanized area (Ginza city) were conducted, and their characteristics of microclimate were evaluated. Especially, the experiments in Meiji-shrine forest can also lead the evaluation of pollutants absorption (air purification), terpene emission (refreshment), and CO2 assimilation. (2) qualification of human thermal environment : In the field observation in Meiji-shrine and Tama river, human-physiological measurements were also conducted. The new methodology connecting the human-sensation and meteorological environments was proposed. (3) A new index of thermal sensation (VTL) : laboratory experiments were performed in a climate simulator to investigate human's physiological response and thermal comfort. A new thermal sensation index (VTL=Virtual Thermal Load) was proposed and it's validity was confirmed.
