Research Abstract |
In the first place, I synthesized yttrium triisopropoxide , barium diisopropoxide and copper diisopropoxide from anhydrous yttrium chloride, metal barium and anhydrous copper chloride, respectively. Next, stoichimetiric solution for hydrolysis was prepared by dissolving yttrium triisopropoxide, barium diisopropoxide, copper diisopropoxide in 2-propanol in order to obtain complex oxide. After the mixed alkoxide solution was hydrolized by water. Thus, the suspension of complex oxide was obtained. The experimental results of freeze-drying of the suspension was published in Applied Surface Science, Vol.100/101, in 1996. After the experimental apparatus of supercritical carbon dioxide drying was set, solubilities of both 2-propanol and water in 50-140 atm and at 30-50゚C were measured. Then, phase equilibrium for CO_2-2-propanol-water system were examined experimentally and theretically. Then, the drying of the suspension was performed in the suitable conditions. The diameter of dried powders were 0.025-0.25mum. The results from this experiment suggest that supercritical drying method is useful for drying of the suspension prepared by alkoxide route. A part of the results of this study was presented st 46th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference in Kingston, and 29th Autumn Meeting of Chemical Engineering of Japan in September in 1996. This paper is now preparing.
