Research Abstract |
The mountains and forests which are showed in a folk tales maybe able to distinguish roughly, the villageforests which has been concerned deeply in the daily job and life, from the depth of a mountain where a god and a ancestors soul or a ghost are living. Through these moundains and forests, I can recognize thesituation of the people who has participated some labor, besides a firewood-gathering, a charcoal-making, a hunting and a farm job etc.in the falk tales. And then, about the tree which is showed in the folk tales. I can see many kinds which are concerned in a man deeply, and the regional differences are reflected in the name of tree. Culture of beech forest region, it has put to practical use the forest resources effectively, and it has supported by the people lived in a mountain mostly. Through the folk tales which is handed down in the Tohoku district, I could see the part of life and faith of the people who had lived in the beech forest region climate. And without breaking nature, they got rebirth and rotate the nature with getting nature's grace. I could see the simple nature worship expressed the thanks to the nature at each place. Now, though we have some problems that the preservation of regional natur resources and the insufficiency of successor, and it has the tendency to reduction, it became to be clearly that the traditional culture in beech forest region was succeeded.
