| Research Abstract |
黄色ブドウ球菌株N315h4から、Sau3AIで部分消化した染色体DNAをクローニングベクターpYT3のBamHI切断部位にクローン化して黄色ブドウ球菌株LRSに導入した。隔壁の合成が亢進する場合には、隔壁合成阻害剤であるimipenemに耐性となることを利用してimipenem含有寒天平板で増殖するコロニーを選択した。その菌株のプラスミドを抽出し、DNA塩基配列を決定したところ、2種の遺伝子がクローン化され、そのコードする蛋白はいずれも従来の遺伝子のそれとホモロジーを示さなかった。現在、電子顕微鏡により、これらの遺伝子の機能を研究中である。
