Research Abstract |
1.We set up revisedly rat esophageal endoscopic system using the Olympus thin, rigid Selfoscope (A7001). For rat esophageal endoscopy it is suitable to use its new rigid Selfoscope, A7001 with 1.2mm in diameter. By using videoendoscopy, the resolution capacity and color performance of the endoscopic images is significantly better. The videoebdoscopic image linked to the Selfoscope can be digitally coded and stored on a photografic medium and U-matic video tape. 2.Endoscopic grading of esophageal varices of rat model was performed by using personal computer (Macintosh, 8600/250) and Photoshop ver3.OJ (Adobe Inc.). The method of calculating is estimated variceal area on region of impression (ROI) of endoscopic image field. Its method was exactrly same to the ordinally one using digital planimetor. The grade of varices was indicated by Ratio (V/ROI). 3.The effect of various vasoactive drugs esophageal varices was significantlly shown by propranolol, vasopressin, nipradilol and octreotide compared with controls. The ratio of Ratio (V/ROI) was vasopressin=0.653, propranolol=0.690, nipradilol=0.793, octreotide=0.711 and control=0.992, respectively. 4.The culture of Ito's cell was performed by Niki's method, The grading of contraction of Ito's cells was done the same method of that of esophageal varices. Its grading of contraction indicated by Ratio (C/ROI). 5.The ratio of Ratio (V/ROI) on endothelin was 0.834. But various vasoactive drugs was not change ratio except that of propranolol=0.931. 6.In conclusion, the treatment of esophageal varices with vasoactive drugs was usefull and effective, especially using nipradilol or octreotide.
