Research Abstract |
The reporting system of representing stenosis area on the coronary arteries is developed. (1) The vessel region is extracted by applying the methods of non-linear smoothing and dynamic thresholding. (2) The center-lines of the vessel is calculated by thnning the detected vessel regions. (3) The branching points on the center-lines are detected by the calculation of connection to the neighboring points, and each of vessel segments are obtained. (4) On the basis of similarity of the garphical information of the vessel segments, the segments constructing the main vessels are selected. (5) The two vessel of LAD and LCX are discriminated for the mail vessels. (6) The other vessel segments are discriminated to the anatomical names with the branching positions and the branching directions. (7) The entropy filter and the Hough transformation methods are applied for each segment to detect stenosis on vessels. On the examination report, (a) the original image, (b) the center-line image and (c) the plotted diameter along the center-line for the obtained vessel segments are arranged. The detected stenosis is marked on the center- line image and the plotted diameter on the correspondence to its position. This report is able to be used for the medical examination.
