Research Abstract

平成10年度で本領域の研究はひとまず終了し、平成11年度はそれまでに得られた研究成果のとりまとめと、学術論文および国際会議での成果発表を主に行った。本領域の成果の中でも、例えば超塑性から結晶粒界塑性を目指したアプローチは、本領域の活動によってもたらされた斬新な成果として、国内外から高く評価されている。例えば、従来脆性材料として扱われてきたセラミックス材料において、優れた超塑性特性をGe添加TZP系や種々の酸化物を添加したAl_2O_3系セラミックスにおいて見出し、その超塑性特性を粒界塑性の立場から、破壊エネルギーやXPS等で測定される化学結合状態との関連で整理しうるという知見を見出しており、今年度欧文学術誌や第8回クリープ国際会議(The eighth international conference on creep and fracture of engineering materials and structures, 1999年11月1日〜5日、つくば)をはじめ幾つかの国際会議の場において紹介した。また、2000年JFCCワークショップ(国際シンポジウム、2000年3月15日〜17日、名古屋)本領域の成果の一端を引き継ぐ形で、粒界・界面の立場から材料の特性を議論し、本領域で得られた成果を紹介した。
