| Research Abstract |
This Grant was used to support the following Conference/Workshop :
The Fifth MSJ International Research Institute : Knot Theory, Tokyo 1996
Date : International Conference/Workshop : July 22-26/July 29-31
The Conference/Workshop was held at International Conference Center, Waseda University. There were 183 participants from 12 countries. The participant number (on the research institution basis) was as follows : Australia 3, Canada 3, France 4, Germany 4, Italy 1, Japan 140, Korea 2, Russia 6, Spain 2, Switzerland 1, U.K.5, U.S.A.12.
At the Conference, 19 invited speakers have delivered 45 minute talks in the plenary session, and in the three parallel sessions 57 speakers have delivered 20 minute talks.
At the Workshop, 3 special invited speakers, CM.Gordon, L.H.Kauffman, DeWitt Sumners, have delivered 1-hour*3 lectures and 6 invited speakers have delivered 1-hour lectures.
Abstracts of these talks and lectures were contained in the "Report of this research results".
A collection of 43 (refereed) research papers, which are based on talks delivered at the Conference, will be published in :
Proceedings of Knots'96, World Scientific Publishing Co.1997,600 pages,
and a collection of 10 expository papers, which are based on talks and lectures at the Conference and Workshop, will be published in :
