Research Abstract

; We discussed localization of non-collagenous matrix protein on odontoclast, cementoblast and new cementum during cementum regeneration by means of immunohistochemistry. Results suggest that osteopontin and bone sialo protein participate in early calcification of cementum regeneration and that osteocalcin, osteonectin and BMP-2 have roles in later calcification.
; We examined immunohistochemically localization of epithelial cell rests of Malassez in period from root resorption to cementum regeneration. Malassez chage their structure and seems to have some roles in this period. We propose that Malassez have another role in cementum regeneration.
; To elucidate detail role of epithelial cell rests of Mallasez, we examined ultrastructure of Malassez in cementum regeneration. In period of root resorption Malassez is similar to in development. We propose that Malassez have possibility to play roles in cementum regeneration with changing form.
; We investegated ultrastructure of odontoclast and localization of OPN and BSP in root resorption. Results shows that odontoclast is similar to osteiclast and that root resorption occurs in similar mechanism to bone resorption. However, in early cementum regeneration localization of non-collagenous matrix protein is differ from bone remodeling.
