Research Abstract |
The aim of this study was to develop methods for analyzing and evaluating records of classroom instruction in school subjects. For this aim, this study has three goals : - Develop a method for analyzing and evaluating records of classroom instruction in school subjects, not a "content free" method but one that incorporate the characteristics of each subject. - Explore the methods for analyze the sequence of teaching behaviors, with a special focus on such subjects as music, arts, physical education. - Provide a structural analysis of classroom instruction by referring to the current research findings in cognitive science in order to explore the learning process by students. The results include some methodologies for analyzing and evaluating records of classroom instruction across the school subjects. In this study methods for analyze the sequence of teaching behaviors were presented, with a special focus on such subjects as music, arts, physical education. A method was proposed for gathering and analyzing classroom data from a classroom where group and individual learning are emphasized. Also, a method for gathering and analyzing the data of students' learning in a whole classroom lesson was introduced and discussed, considering the importance of learners' perspective in analyzing and evaluating classroom data. Parts of the results of this study can be used in a teacher training program. A further exploration will be needed for synthesizing the findings of this study.
