Research Abstract |
During the term we practically performed our research activities, making use of several packaged media, such as CD-ROM,and on-line databases. While electonic media are inferior to previous press media in that it is difficult to comprehend the content of them at a glance, they contend and enormous quantity of information compared with press media, and in case of electronic media one can automatically search what he wants to know by keywords. Electronic media are also able to save a lot of space when we store the information, and we need to promote digitization of cases and edit digital casebooks. As digital information is distributed through telecommunications network, we have possibility for cases and references in any country, even if we are in Japan. In this point of view, we must emphasize the role of Internet. While public sector is positive to disclose legal information through the Internet in European countries and the United States, Japanese public organizations, especially administration and court, are reluctant to do it. Therefore we must continue research and development of the distribution system of legal information through communications network.
