Research Abstract |
Development of the effective solid waste melting process and utilization of melted slug were done. As the results, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. Development of the effective solid waste melting process The melting characteristics of ash and leaching of heavy metals contained in slug were related with its basity (Cao/SiO_2). The physical strength of slug was evaluated by abrasion test, and a close relationship between the density of slug and its abrasion masses was made clear. A melting point, abrasion masses, leaching of heavy metals and fuel expense in melting process were effected by the composition of ash, and there were the trade-off relations in each other. With these results, the effective melting operation was suggested. 2. Application of melted slug to self-compacting concrete and to materials of tiles The water layr model was devised. This model was effective in designing the mix proportion of self-compacting concrete. It was proved that application of melted slug to materials of tile is effecteve, becouse the baking temperature of tiles made from slug were lower as compared a conventional process.
