| Research Abstract |
In 1994 and 1995, we asked females of third-year of nursing college to complete a questioaire on Bowlby's Internal Working Model (IWM) and to write about their life history. In 1996 and 1997, two years thereafter, we asked those 201 females to complete same questionaire and got 134 replies. In questionaire subjects answered to following items of three tendencies of IWM (secure, ambivalent, avoidant) , five tendencies of Egogram, the sense of adaptation from past to present time, the cognition of parents' child-rearing attitude in 3-5 point scales, and in life history devided four periods they wrote about how each periods was, what was happened, and who were important for themselves and why. The main results were as follows ; 1) Security of present interpersonal framework (IWM) was related moderately to Egogram scores, and weakly to the sense of adaptation (especially in present time) and the cognition of parents' childrearing attitude which represent their interpersonal experience from past to present time. 2) As to change after 2 years, correlations of scores at two times was from the .4 to the .7 level which showed that stability between the two times were fairly high, though there were decrease in ambivalent score and increase in avoidant score, and the relation between IWM scores and other scores showed little difference between the two times. 3) Examing of cognition of their mother from past to present time through analysis of life history in details, the cognition changed along with development, and in many cases secure-insecure relationship to their mother in childhood were related to that in adolescence. 4) The degree of security in present interpersonal framework by scores of questionaire was related to secure attachment and avoidant relationship to mother and friends in life history, and that tendency was remarkable in insecure group.
