Research Abstract |
Movements of vitalization of local community change according to the current tide and the social situation. At 60's, the most important problems of the local community were the dissolution of surplus population, and to produce more foods On the contrary, at 70's, the many local communities were apt to be underpopulated, and became short of the breadwinner. At 80's, urbanization made rapid progress, and the underpopulation of the local communities more and more proceeded. Then, the vitalization of the local communities became the important subjects. At 90's started with one hundred million projects of the creation of hometown. There projects promoted movements of vitalization of the local communities. Trends of these movements vary between communities. The following are main trends. 1. Practical uses of regional resources. 2. The promotion of communities by financial aid from the government. 3. Active participation of the inhabitants of local communities. 4. Various interchange between the communities. 5. Many-sided interchange between the rural and urban communities. 6. Integration of the living community and the reference community.
