Research Abstract |
Whetehr family labor which consists of productive labor (farming) and reproductive labor (domestsic work) and social activity which will lead to self-realization are balancing or conflicting in the life pattern of farm women is the critical problem under contemporary degradation of agriculture. Drastic technological innovation and social change has brought the evaluation of women's labor as indispensable for sustaining agriculture and food production. The balance of family labor and self-realization in the life pattern of farm women should be the condition for such sustainability. This project surveyed the life pattern of farm women through time allocation. Diary type schedules were mailed to purposeive samples. The periods of diary keeping were in February and June, three days each peiord (one weekday, one Saturday and one Sunday). Analysis was made on the amount of time they allocated on family labor and social activity, social space of the behavior and stress-satisfaction associated with the behavior.
