Research Abstract

First, we interviewed with around 210 persons, companies and organizations, such as auto manufacturers, auto dealers, importers, distributors, and industrial organizations. Auto manufacturers are Toyota Motor, Nissan Motor, Mazda, Daihatsu Motors, and Mitsubishi Motor, etc. Auto dealers are Toyota, Toyopet, Nissan, Honda-Verno, and Honda-Primo, etc. Importer are Saturn Japan and Mercedes Benz Japan, etc. Industrial organizations are Japanese automobile Manufacturers Association and Japanese Automobile Dealer Association, etc.
Second, in addition, we interviewed many auto manufacturers and auto dealers etc, in Korea, China, UK, and USA.
As a result, we got so many materials and information in order to make a international comparison in terms of auto manufacturer and auto dealer relationship and in terms of historical process of auto franchise system in each country.
