Research Abstract |
In this research, we investigated following 4 tasks for the safety driving. (1) The development of signal processing method for ambulatory monitoring sensor (2) Stress measurement (3) The relation between the road curvature and human driving skill. (4) The configuration of the indicator which expresses the mentality of the driver by use of the expression of the shape of face (1) We developed the heartbeat rate measurement system for driver. A capacitor microphone was used as the sensor, and it detects heartbeat from driver seat. Because of the high sensitivity of sensor, it can detect not only the heartbeat but also the other noise. In order to measure the heartbeat signal ; we propose new signal processing method. The heartbeat rate change of the person could be detected from the cushion under non-oscillated environment. (2) This research describes how to measure stress. We assume that stress is caused by a gap in correlation between respiration and heart beat, suggest new method of measurement of stress on the basis of above assumption and known results that and respiration is correlative with heartbeat by the medium of autonomic nerve. (3) This research describes the extraction and the evaluation method of the driving skill. We employ the driving curvature, as one of criteria to evaluate the driving skill. We present a new system to estimate the curvature of driving loci and present a new algorithm to extract the curvature of a road itself that due to unskillful driving. (4) In order to inform the driving condition to driver, it is useful to indicate the human shape instead of usual numeric number. Because it is more intuitive rather than abstract symbols. In order to determine the relationship between the vehicle condition and human shape indicator, we apply the factor analysis to get that relationship.
